Who operates Gridzumi

Gridzumi is operated by Christopher Kelada in Australia. This policy covers the Gridzumi website and mobile app. For privacy questions or requests, email support@gridzumi.com.

Information we collect

We collect the name, email address, display name and authentication information you provide to create and use an account. Passwords are stored as hashes. We store predictions, scores, season registrations, group memberships and preferences. You may also provide a profile photo, invitations, feedback or support messages. Technical records can include your IP address, approximate registration country, browser or device information, login activity, page visits and requests. Mobile alerts use a device installation identifier, push notification token and notification preferences.

How we use information

We use information to operate and secure accounts, manage season participation and groups, record predictions, calculate scores, display results and leaderboards, and provide support. We use email for account verification, password recovery and service communications. Reminders and mobile alerts follow your preferences and device permissions. Logs and usage records help us diagnose problems, prevent abuse and maintain the service.

What other participants can see

Your display name, profile photo, scores, standings and relevant competition activity can be visible to other participants through competition screens, leaderboards and groups. Group administrators can manage membership. Service administrators can access information needed to operate and support Gridzumi. Avoid including sensitive personal information in your display name, photo or feedback.

Hosting and service providers

Gridzumi is self-hosted in Australia, with its primary database and local backups stored locally. Gmail, provided by Google, is used for email delivery and for copies of database backups sent as attachments. Those copies can contain account details, predictions and technical records. Google may process and store this information outside Australia. Apple processes device notification information to deliver iOS push notifications. The website uses Google reCAPTCHA to prevent abuse, and loads shared styles and icons from jsDelivr; these providers receive technical request information such as IP address and browser details. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to protect the service and its users.

Cookies and device storage

The website uses session cookies and browser storage to manage sign-in. The mobile app uses secure device storage for authentication credentials and stores settings needed to operate the app. Website usage measurement records page and session activity when enabled. Google reCAPTCHA may use cookies and device information for abuse prevention.

Account records and deletion

We keep account and competition information while needed to provide the service. You can delete your account in the mobile app under Settings > Delete account, using your current password and typing DELETE to confirm. Account deletion removes or replaces core profile details, revokes account access and removes notification registrations. Historical predictions and scores can remain under Deleted member to preserve past competition results. Some support messages, technical records and backup copies can remain after account deletion for security, operational or legal reasons. Contact support@gridzumi.com for help with deletion or questions about remaining records.

Backup retention

Automated local backups follow a tiered retention policy: all backups are kept for 30 days; Sunday backups are kept from 30 to 90 days; after 90 days, one backup per calendar month is kept for up to one year. The seven newest backups are always protected, even if they are older than these periods. Cleanup runs after a successful backup when the backup service is enabled. This schedule applies to automated local backup files. It does not automatically delete Gmail attachments or manually created backup exports, which may remain until manually removed. Contact support@gridzumi.com about personal information retained in those copies.

Your choices and privacy requests

You can update your profile, change your password and manage reminders and alerts in the app. You can disable notifications in iOS Settings. Email support@gridzumi.com to request access to or correction of your information, request deletion assistance, or raise a privacy concern, including a concern about information provided by a child. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Policy changes

We may update this policy when the service or its data practices change. The current version and its effective date will be available at gridzumi.com/privacy.
